Abdulla Nafiz
Dean
Abdulla Nafiz is the Dean of the Qasim Ibrahim School of Business (QISB) at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. With more than 8 years of service at Â鶹ÊÓƵ,
Mr. Nafiz has been instrumental in the grow...th and development of QISB. Mr. Nafiz's educational background includes a Master of Business Administration degree (The University of Adelaide, Australia) and a Bachelor of Business degree (University of South Australia, Australia). He currently teaches the "Enterprise Project" (UG, 3rd year) and "Customer and International Market Analysis†(MBA) modules at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, Australia, reflecting his commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
Mr. Nafiz's experience includes serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Computing (now MNU Business School) of the Maldives National University. He has a strong background in FMCGs and shipping. He also serves as the Chair of the Programme Development and Approval Committee at Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
Mr. Nafiz's research interests include SMEs and family-owned businesses. He is currently conducting research on the effectiveness of local health warnings on smoking among youth. His past research includes a study on the Old, Existing and Potential Income Generation Activities in the Maldives.
Mr. Nafiz's expertise and experience have been recognized both nationally and internationally. He is an Executive Board Member of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), reflecting his standing as a thought leader and innovator in his field.

Dr. Ahsan Ahmed Jaleel
Associate Dean (Assistant Professor)
Dr. Ahsan Ahmed Jaleel holds the esteemed position of Associate Dean at Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Qasim Ibrahim School of Business, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to his role. Having earned a Doc...tor of Philosophy from Monash University and a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Adelaide, Dr. Jaleel has demonstrated unwavering dedication to the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community over the past 7 years.
His research pursuits encompass the fields of Consumer Behaviour and Gamified/Simulation-based Learning. In accordance with these interests, Dr. Jaleel is presently spearheading a research project investigating the efficacy of gamification for the 10 second generation, supported by a research grant from Â鶹ÊÓƵ. His work in the domain was showcased when he presented a paper on the effectiveness of simulation-based learning at the ICSRI conference in June 2022.
Within Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Dr. Jaleel is actively involved in teaching, offering courses such as Conducting Evidence-Based Research and Applied Business Project. In the past, he has coordinated the BA Business Management and BA Human Resource Management programs, playing a substantial role in the development of courses like Statistics and Data Management and Decision Making for Business.
Dr. Jaleel's commitment to staying current in his field is exemplified by his membership with the London Journal Press.

Dr. Byju Koreth Puthanveettil Madhavan
Assistant Professor
Dr Byju K.P. Madhavan is an Assistant Professor in the Qasim Ibrahim School of Business at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, where he has been teaching for 6 years. He holds a Doctoral degree in Business Management (Pon...dicherry Central University - India) and a Master of Business Administration (Anna University - India). Before joining Â鶹ÊÓƵ, he worked as an Assistant Professor at two academic institutions in India and has around 3 years of Industrial experience extending across manufacturing and service sectors.
Dr Byju Madhavan has a keen interest in research, focusing on negative emotions, gamified learning, and simulation effectiveness. His latest publication, "Teachers' emotions at work - the perceived role of supervisors and coworkers" was published in the South Asian Journal of Management in December 2022 and is UGC listed, ABDC & ERA rated.
Dr Byju Madhavan is working on four research projects: exploring the impact of negative emotions (Â鶹ÊÓƵ research grant 2021), gamified learning (Â鶹ÊÓƵ research grant 2022), entrepreneurship education, and remote working.
In addition to his research work, Dr Byju Madhavan teaches several modules in the Faculty of Business Management, including Strategic Management, Strategy and Implementation, and Integrated Business Management Simulation. He also coordinates the Master of Business Administration program (UWE) and has developed the Master of Human Resource Management course.
Dr Byju Madhavan has also undertaken consultancy work, including a HR project with KPMG Sri Lanka for the State Trading Organization (STO) Maldives, which involved training gap analysis and structured ways to address these gaps in the future. He has also consulted with the Male Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) on two HR projects - Work from Home and Staff Motivation and Performance. Interest includes reading novels and stories especially the ones by Paulo Coelho and RK Narayan.

Dr. Srinivas Arun Kumar Kakani
Assistant Professor
Dr. Srinivas Arun Kumar Kakani is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Business Management at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. With a Ph.D. in SDG 5, Gender equality, a Masters in Business Administration (Impact of... Training and Development) a Masters in Commerce (Consumer Behaviour), and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting), from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Dr. Kakani brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as an educator and researcher since 2009.
Dr. Kakani has been a part of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community since 2016, during which time he has established himself as a respected and dedicated member of the faculty. Prior to joining Â鶹ÊÓƵ, he served as an Assistant Professor at MVR college of engineering and technology, Department of Management Studies, PG Department of Commerce for KBN college, and PBS college. Prior to that, he worked for ICICI Bank as a Post disbursement verification executive for 9 months where he witnessed some spectacular sceneries.
Dr. Kakani's research focuses on issues related to gender equality, emotional intelligence, and the impact of social media. He has published several articles in international journals, including "Relationship between Socio-economic characteristics and dimensions of gender issues and problems in BPO Sector- An analysis" in the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research Review and "Socio-economic characteristics of women employees in BPO Sector- An Analysis" in the International journal of management and social science research review. He is also currently working on research projects exploring the impact of workplace incivility and social media feedback on self-worth, Workplace incivility - effects and reactions with the mediating role of leadership, organization, and culture. In addition to his research, Dr. Kakani is also a dedicated and passionate educator. He teaches a variety of courses in the business management program, including Financial Aspects of Marketing, Financial Management, Events and festivals management, Marketing planning and practice, and Business marketing in society. He has also developed a Bachelor of Arts - Business Management with the marketing program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ and coordinates the program.
Dr. Kakani is a member of the Board of Commerce Studies, PBS Autonomous Vijayawada, India. He is highly respected by his colleagues and students alike and is a valuable member of the Faculty of Business Management at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. He acts as general secretary of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Staff Club for the 2nd time.

Dr. Shahnawaz Ali
Assistant Professor
Dr. Shahnawaz Ali is an Assistant Professor in the Qasim Ibrahim School of Business. He holds a PhD in Business Management (Finance), Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (NIILM, New Delhi) an...d a Masters in Commerce IGNOU. Dr. Ali has passed CFA Level 1 exam and is in the final stage of CIMA, UK qualification. Prior to joining the faculty, he served as a Senior Lecturer and Head of Accounting Department at Catholic University in Erbil. He is a member of CFA Institute, USA and Financial Management Association International (FMAI-USA).
Dr. Ali's recent research has focused on the effect of demonetization on the microfinance industry in India and the role of digital technologies on the growth of the mutual funds industry, both of which were published in leading academic journals.
As a teacher, Dr. Ali is responsible for several modules, including Economics of International Financial Markets, Strategic Financial Management, and Introductory Econometrics. He also coordinates the MSc in Accounting and Finance program, ensuring that students receive the best possible education in the field.
With his extensive experience in academia and his passion for research, Dr. Ali is a valuable member of the Qasim Ibrahim School of Business. His commitment to teaching and program coordination ensures that students receive the most comprehensive education possible in the field of finance.
Dr. Mir Hasan Naqvi

Dr. Mir Hasan Naqvi is an accomplished academic with a strong background in economics, specializing in Agricultural Economics and Environmental Economics. Dr. Naqvi furthered his academic journey by c...ompleting his doctoral studies from an esteemed institution where he focused on the topic of Food Processing Industry and its prospects.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Naqvi has made significant contributions to the field of economics through his research and publications; he has honed his ability to deliver effective and engaging lectures to his students.
In addition to his scholarly accomplishments, Dr. Naqvi is an active participant in workshops and short-term courses. He is a lifelong learner, as demonstrated by his participation in workshops like "Competence-oriented Curricula and Learning Portfolio" under SSAPI project and “Rural Planning and Management: Application of Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information System (GIS)†organized by Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN).

Aishath Thashkeel
Senior Lecturer
Meet Aishath Thashkeel, our Senior Lecturer in the Qasim Ibrahim School of Business. With over 4 years of experience at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, she brings expertise in Human Resources and Industrial Relations,... having earned a Master of Arts in this field from the University of Minnesota, USA. Prior to joining Â鶹ÊÓƵ, she served as an HR Executive at Jumeirah Vittaveli and worked as a lecturer at Colleges in the Maldives since 2011.
Thashkeel is an accomplished researcher, having recently published an article in the South Asian Journal of Management titled "Teachers’ Emotions at Work – The Perceived Role of Supervisors and Coworkers". Her research interests include HR Management, HR Development, Knowledge Management, Counterproductive Work behavior, and Chatbots in HR. She is currently conducting studies on Negative Emotions, Enforced Remote Working, and Simulation.
A dedicated teacher, Thashkeel currently teaches courses on Strategic HR Management, HR Development & Knowledge Management. She also coordinates the BA in Tourism and Hotel Management program and has developed the Master of Arts in Human Resource Management course. In addition to her teaching and research, Thashkeel provides consultancy services to the Maldives Association of Human Resources Professionals, where she is developing an HR Competency framework on behalf of Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
Thashkeel is a member of The Maldives Association of Human Resources Professionals (MAHRP) and was recently recognized as one of the 10 Inspiring Women Leaders of HR in the Maldives by People Hum (India).

Dr. Shajeer Sainudeen Shahida
Senior Lecturer
Dr. Shajeer Sainudeen is a Senior Lecturer at the Qasim Ibrahim School of Business at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. He holds a Master of Commerce in Finance and International Business, and a Master of Business Admin...istration in Finance and Marketing from The University of Kerala, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Marketing at Woxsen University, Hyderabad. Mr. Sainudeen has been at Â鶹ÊÓƵ for over eight years and has extensive experience as a Marketing Manager at SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.
Dr. Sainudeen's research interests include marketing (branding, brand management, consumer behavior, customer-brand relationships) and entrepreneurship. He has published a quantitative study on the challenges faced by youth entrepreneurship in the Maldives. He is also currently working on several research projects, including one on the intervening impact of social media marketing on brand loyalty, which involves a multi-group analysis of customer demographics.
As a lecturer, Dr. Sainudeen teaches modules such as Applied Marketing Practice, Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Managing People, and Equality Law and Diversity. He is a lifetime member of the Indian Society for Training and Development and has received an Assistant Professorship (National Eligibility Test) from the University Grant Commission of India.

Muhammad Shahzeb Khan is a Senior Lecturer at the Qasim Ibrahim School of Business (QISB). He holds an MBA in International Management from Federation University Australia. His expertise lies in areas... such as operations management, supply chain management, quality lean six sigma, business management, and human resource management (HRM).
Shahzeb Khan has accumulated over 13 years of professional experience in various organizations. He has worked at notable companies such as Australia Post, AGL (Australia), and Metro Germany. In addition to his industry experience, he has also worked at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University in Pakistan.
Shahzeb Khan's accomplishments include receiving a travel grant, which he was recognized for his contributions to his field and has been granted funds to support his professional development or research activities. He is also a member of the Yellow Belt Six Sigma, with familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and tools for process improvement.

Currently, he is a Ph.D. Scholar, focusing his research on Knowledge Management in SMEs, showcasing his passion for advancing knowledge in the academic domain. Nikhil's areas of expertise encompass a wide range of subjects, including Knowledge Management, Operational Management, Information Systems for Management, Business Statistics & Decision Making, and Programming skills in PHP, SQL, and JavaScript. Rincy Sebastian

Mrs. Rincy Sebastian is a dedicated Lecturer in the Faculty of Business Management at Â鶹ÊÓƵ with over 3 years of experience. She holds a Master of Commerce degree and is currently pursuing her... Ph.D. from GD Goenka University.
With a passion for education, Mrs. Sebastian has worked as an Assistant Professor in various esteemed institutions, including EKNM Government College, St Pious X College, and Kannur University, among others. She has authored a book chapter titled "Emerging Trends in Indian Banking & Financial Service Sector – Opportunities & Challenges" published by GBS Publishers and Distributors.
Mrs. Sebastian's research interests focus on disability-inclusive practices within the Maldives' higher education system and the analysis of the Indian Impact Investment ecosystem's impact on financial inclusion. She is currently involved in research grant projects in these areas.
As a Lecturer, Mrs. Sebastian currently teaches Financial Management, Applied Management Accounting, and Introduction to Management Accounting. She also coordinates the Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance program and is involved in the course development of various programs, including Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and MSc Accounting & Fintech. She has also contributed to the development of the Advanced Business Reporting module.

Ms. Mohamed... holds a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of West England, UK, and a Master of Business Administration in International Business from Edith Cowan University, Australia.
As an accounting teacher and former Head of the Department, Ms. Mohamed has a wealth of experience in teaching and program coordination. She has co-authored book chapters for Combined Business Studies - National Curriculum Level 4 and is currently teaching Principles of Taxation, Foundations in Financial Accounting, and Management Accounting modules. Ms. Mohamed is also involved in the coordination of programs such as the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Masters of Science in Accounting and Finance, and Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Finance.
Ms. Mohamed has contributed to the development of the Master of Professional Accounting program by designing modules such as Financial Statement Analysis and Management Accounting for decision making. She holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) aw...arded from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK and has a wealth of experience in the corporate world. Rushani Lewke Bandara is a Certified Trainer from City & Guilds, UK and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (CIPM).
Prior to joining the faculty, Rushani Lewke Bandara held various management roles in Sri Lanka and Maldives. She has held the positions of Head of Sales & Marketing, Territory Manager, Business Development Manager & Senior Sales Manager in Sri Lanka & Maldives.
Rushani Lewke Bandara’s research interests include Marketing, Education, Women Empowerment, Water Recycling & Treatment, and Energy Recovery. She is a firm believer in the power of education and is passionate about empowering women.
As a lecturer, Rushani Lewke Bandara is currently teaching the module on Managing Skills. Additionally, she is responsible for coordinating the programmes of two professional accounting bodies: ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
Rushani Lewke Bandara is a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and a student member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in the UK. She is also a member of Toastmasters International, USA, which reflects her commitment to improving her communication and leadership skills.

Aminath Farha Shareef
Contract Lecturer
Ms. Aminath Farha Shareef is a dedicated Contract Lecturer in the Faculty of Business Management at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. With a Master of Business Administration degree from Â鶹ÊÓƵ (awarded by the Un...iversity of the West of England) under her belt, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her current role, where she has been serving for the past 3 years. Prior to joining Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Ms. Farha served as a Part-time Lecturer at Maldives National University and as a Senior Case Officer, Grade 2 (Head of Investigation Coordination Unit) at the Anti-Corruption Commission of Maldives.
Ms. Farha is currently teaching Introduction to Management, Introduction to Business and Management, and Enterprise Project modules at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, and is also actively involved in the coordination of UWE Master of Business Administration programme. She has played an instrumental role in the development of the Bachelor of Arts in Business and Project Management course at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Her outstanding contributions to the field of education have earned her the prestigious Qasim Ibrahim Award for Excellence from Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
Dr. Syed Muhammad Noaman Ahmed Shah
Assistant Professor
Dr. Syed Muhammad Noaman Ahmed Shah has earned his Doctorate in Economics from Université d’Orléans (France) and has more than ten years of academic, research and professional experience in the fields... of Economics, Finance and Accounting.
Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor at the Qasim Ibrahim School of Business at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Maldives.
As far as his research interests are concerned, he is mainly interested in asset valuation techniques, challenges faced by SMEs in accessing finance, neuro finance, green finance, financial crisis episodes, forensic accounting, application of information theory in economics and finance, financial markets-monetary policy transmission, Basel regulations, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and applied econometrics.
His doctoral thesis focused on evaluating the effects of financial crisis episodes regarding the volatility in spreads of non-financial firms’ (in addition to sovereign and financial) debt in the context of eurozone. In his opinion, the financial crisis episodes provide an opportunity to the academics and researchers to better understand and enhance the knowledge of how economic agents react during these difficult times. Thus, his research work mainly contributed in the domain of financial economics, neuro economics, and forensic accounting.
